The banning of some inputs such as neonicotinoids, as well as the restriction of others means new or previously niche classes of agricultural input are growing in importance, including but not exclusively Biostimulants and Biological controls. This presents both challenges and opportunities to farmers and the wider UK agri-foods industry and is something I find particularly interesting.
Due to this, for my dissertation I am investigating the perceptions of the UK agri-food industry regarding the Biostimulant and Biological controls product classes, as well as their associated regulatory environment. I am looking to gain perceptions from a broad range of individuals throughout the industry.
