Weather Logistics supplies seasonal weather data to improve extreme weather/ near-term climate risk management. Covering the next 15 weeks and to within a resolution of a few kilometres, its predictions are more detailed and better calibrated than any other long-term weather provider. The company’s vision is a world more resilient to short-term climate disruptions that impact agri-food supply operations.

The company has developed its own proven algorithm to predict a variety of seasonal weather: precipitation extremes, hail damage, wind gusts and consecutive hot or cold days. Its approach has so far proven successful in the United Kingdom, Spain and Turkey. Its precipitation forecasts were subject to an independent and impartial validation from the National Physical Laboratory, a project successfully completing in April 2022.

Ongoing projects include partnering on a £0.65m NERC project, supporting sugar beet production in Turkey, and sponsoring a Yield21 to predict national wheat yields. We have also supplied weather services to one of Europe’s largest salad producers.

The company specialises in data-driven solutions to solve climate challenges, operating also as a validation and data science firm, that has included consultancy services for Agrimetrics, NIAB East Malling Research and Ag-Space Agriculture.
