Creating Connections to Advance Integrated Pest Management

We are establishing a network of farms to share knowledge and data on the application and impact of IPM strategies with the aim to better understand the effectiveness of IPM approaches on farm yield and profitability, and support sustainable, productive systems with no pesticide inputs wasted. We’ve had some initial funding from Defra to design the network, and now we are moving into a pilot phase.

In this webinar, we will outline the long term goals of IPM NET and the plan for the pilot, how to register your details, and establish links to the IPM Tool and Pest and Disease survey.

Participating farms will collect essential data to enable evaluation of the impact of IPM strategies on various farming aspects such as yield, profit, and pesticide applications.

As a member, you would receive a personalised IPM NET member report, have access to an annual review of the dataset and take part in discussion workshops on farm- and field-specific ideas to enhance IPM practices.

You will be invited to two in-person meetings; a kick-off meeting in early 2024 and an end of season conference to discuss results and ideas.

Membership and conference attendance will be free of charge for IPM NET pilot members in the 2024/25 season.

Integrated Pest Management highlights the growth of a healthy crop with the least possible disruption to agro-ecosystems and encourages natural pest control mechanisms. IPM is one of the tools for low-pesticide-input pest management, and IPM must now be implemented by all professional agchem users.
