There has been a lot of interest in strip tillage among vegetable growers recently.

 

But although there are clear potential benefits, many are cautious to invest time, effort and money in the practice without reassurance that it can work well, particularly in an organic system.

Jake and Leah Harris are one of four farms involved in a field lab looking into strip till to compare it with traditional tillage techniques, measure some of the benefits to soil health and optimise the best way of doing it.
